Listen! I hate to just ask like this, but this is really important! I...I think my face came off! I scrubbed a little too hard this morning or something. And obviously, I can't just walk around like this! I was wondering if maybe you could help a cat out and draw up a new face for me?
...I guess it didn't make much sense, no. But that's okay! [Maybe she's from his future?] You're one of the new arrivals, right? Is there any way I can help you?
[Angelo looked about the seventh heaven and wondered if this was yet another game of mafia. Yet it seemed a lot more crowded than usual and there was also the fact of some people having wings. Though as the now former templar begins drinking, he spies Jeb in the corner of his eye. Oh good, just the person he wanted to see.]
[For some reason or another, Jeb is not with Silver at this point. He's at a table alone, drinking some hot chocolate. He may or may not notice Angelo approach if he does.]
[He wasn't about to buy that at all. This was the game, right? So they're just acting out roles.] So you're playing the role of the amnesiac this game, huh? But where are the others?
[At some point during these two days, Jeb may notice something amiss in one of the out-of-the-way corners of Luceti. A black mist creeps along the ground, twisting here, coiling there. Following it to its source will lead him to an area thick with it, and in the heart of the mist stands a tall woman. It will be difficult to make out her features; the only way to do so will be to step closer.]
[She turns to look in his direction--but aside from that one motion, she stands eerily still. By contrast, the mist continues to move restlessly about the ground, never, ever still.]
[Now the mist comes forward to meet him, coiling about his ankles, slipping over his feet. As it does, it shifts to one side to allow Jeb a better view of the woman. She's dressed in shades of black and grey and wears a half-mask; the only points of colour come from the jewel at her throat and her long aqua hair.
She's silent for a moment longer, then says in a voice utterly without emotion:] Child of man, you have been too often betrayed.
[There's just the slightest echo to her voice, as if she's not entirely present in the world.]

It's sort of odd, isn't it? How none of these new arrivals have wings, I mean.

...why do we have wings, anyway? What's the point? I mean, if we could fly maybe that'd be sorta useful, but...

[She rummages around her pockets for a second before producing a marker and offering it to him.]
Do your best, okay?

Pssst, Jeb. Jeeeb!

Yes? How do you know my name?

More like how don't I know your name!
... But I do know it. So that didn't really make sense, did it?
