[He tries not to think that far ahead, but the thought has haunted the dark corners of his mind more than once. Even if they could stay here forever...Jeb would leave him behind, and he would still have most of his life left to live. Without him. Despite Jeb's warm arms and their hearts beating side by side, he feels cold.]

...I don't want to talk about this.

[Jeb doesn't want to, either. Not any farther than he already has, anyway. So instead, he kisses Mithos again with much more desperation, trying to push himself closer to the blond. As if doing so would make their hearts beat even closer together...]

[Jeb's sudden forwardness surprises him, but he welcomes it. He wants to erase his fears of what could lie in wait down the road. He doesn't want to think about the ache of loneliness when Jeb is right beside him, so he holds on tight and returns the kiss.]

[His kissing becomes even more desperate, as if trying to pass his apologies to Mithos by means of lip contact. He starts crying a little bit, just feeling horribly guilty--I'm sorry, Mithos. I'm sorry. I never meant to upset you. I love you. Just be happy again.]

[The other times Jeb has kissed him hadn't been like this - he does his best to keep up. When he feels one of Jeb's teardrops, he doesn't know whether he should pull away or keep going.]

[Jeb eventually breaks the kiss, but doesn't pull away very much--Mithos should still be able to feel the artist's breath brush hotly against his lips.]

I'm sorry. [Runs a hand through his hair.] Please forgive me, Mithos.

[He can. He does. Just like he can feel his fingers through his hair, and his warmth and weight in his arms.]

Don't apologize, Jeb... You didn't do anything wrong. It's okay. [Just don't talk about that again...he isn't ready to think about it...]

[He doesn't move, either, continuing to speak hushed words against Mithos' lips.]

I love you so much. [Kisses him again, but this time it only lasts for a few moments.] I can't tell you how precious you are to me. I-I can't link the words together, or the right ones just don't exist...
