Oswald the Lucky Rabbit

"Yeah? That's a pretty good answer. I'll bet you've got a lotta heart then, huh Jeb?"

Jeb first met Oswald after the cartoon rabbit had been returned from being kidnapped by the Malnosso and as a result was rather... drippy. Since that initial encounter, the two had talked or met up several times (whether by chance or otherwise.) Jeb never disliked it when he talks to Oswald. He found the rabbit's outlook on everything to be refreshing, and he thought it was great that Oswald tried to entertain his fellow Luceti residents. The boy still thinks highly of Oswald, to the point where he views him as one of his closest friends in Luceti, regardless of the fact that he's gone.

An experiment from April 2012 caused Jeb to believe he was a resident of Wasteland his entire life, but this didn't really affect his friendship with Oswald in the slightest. The fact that Jeb did a painting of Oswald as a king for the rabbit as a Christmas present is even a sign that Jeb only took good things out of that experience, and he really respected Oswald.

This respect was shaken when Oswald was brought back from the Malnosso as a much different drippy monster--perhaps literally, as the mess of ink was a mockery of his former self, only wishing to gain a heart by any means necessary. Regardless, Jeb forgave Oswald for what happened, especially since he disappeared not long after. After discovering that Oswald was gone, Jeb grabbed one of the plush dolls Oswald had managed to grab of himself during his stay in Luceti. The plush sits on Jeb's bed as a reminder of his good pal. He also celebrated Oswald Day despite the cartoon's absence, even though it was in private.

MITHOS YGGDRASILL

Jeb and Mithos' encounters tend to not be so wonderful. After Mithos physically assaulted him for seemingly no reason, Jeb had been all set to avoid him. But he was given time to think about things--both about Mithos and things back home concerning Donovan--and the artist decided that maybe Mithos just needed more support, a friend. He was met with more resistance and their encounters usually ended as badly as they always did. However, due to an experiment, they spent a week believing they were in love with each other. The falling out to that was less than stellar, but Jeb is still be willing to be there for Mithos if given the chance. After all, he knows a lot more about why Mithos is the way he is now.

Once Jeb was taken home and brought back with a year's worth of memories from his own world, as well as right after seeing two of the people closest people get hurt for his sake, Jeb only sympathizes with Mithos more. Because of the fear that Tori and Michiru may not even be alive back home and because of the trouble he's gone through due to his elemental blood awakening, he feels as if Mithos would be one of the few who would truly understand what he's going through. However, this has done nothing to improve their relationship and has only made things more hostile at certain points, partially because of Jeb's own fears and current instability.

In late January of 2013, Mithos was brought back from a kidnapping by the Malnosso as his past, wide-eyed idealist self. While Jeb was at first very uncertain if he should try talking to Mithos in this state of mind, he quickly gave in. The two became friends, though things took a turn for the awkward during Valentine's Day of 2013. Nothing like history repeating itself, or Jeb taking Mithos' first kiss yet again. Despite that awkwardness, Jeb still went to Mithos after a nightmare, causing them to have a chat while watching the stars. After Jeb talking about what happened to Tori and Michiru, and Mithos talking about his worries of the person it appears that he'll become, Jeb made a declaration--that they'll always be friends, no matter what Mithos' mindset is.

This is a promise that Jeb intends to keep, despite Mithos returning back to his usual self. In the last draft they were both in, Jeb tended to the wounds of a severely injured Mithos. While he couldn't heal him entirely by himself, Jeb still did what he could. In the following June, he only made himself more clear that his promise was not one he'd break. In August, they were made to believe they had been childhood friends, and in September they once again discovered move about the other when an experiment resorted them to an earlier period of their lives.

All of this has made Jeb more determined to help Mithos in whatever way he can. Mithos is someone Jeb feels a lot of emotions about--frustration, sadness, but above all friendship and devotion... even if the friendship and devotion is not returned. However, he's still hopeful that this will change in the future, as even his horrible self-esteem issues can't hide the fact that Mithos has become less and less malicious with him.

SILVER

Another "bully" that by all means Jeb shouldn't be able to stand, but somehow slips through the cracks of the category. Jeb doesn't approve of a lot of the ways Silver goes about things, and he certainly doesn't agree with what the younger boy sees as "weakness." Nevertheless, Jeb picked up on the fact that Silver's not as "untouchable" as he makes himself out to be very early on, leading him to offer to share his living space with him. Silver's a person Jeb can platonically see some of Tori's traits in, though the more troubled ones, and even though Silver has a hard time expressing it, he knows the redhead returns his feelings of friendship.

As the months have passed, Silver has become one of Jeb's most trusted people in Luceti while unwittingly becoming Silver's "morality pet" of sorts. Silver's determination to stand by Jeb's side, despite his distrust of almost everyone else, had almost cemented Jeb viewing him as a younger brother. This view was completely cemented on Christmas Day of 2012, when Silver admitted he saw Jeb as family after Jeb had spent so much time making sure Silver would have the type of Christmas that would leave him feeling loved. Silver is now more than just a friend--he's family, and Jeb will defend him to the very end... especially since he knows Silver is slowly changing from the person he first met.

Anise Tatlin

Jeb met Anise when the girl responded to one of his posts with advice on how to deal with nightmares. Agreeing to be friends pretty much right off the bat, they definitely talked to each other a few times since then. Jeb really appreciated Anise and thought she was a sweet girl, despite being a bit on the teasing side. In a way, she too reminded Jeb of Tori in a very platonic sense. He had a feeling she had a few things that troubled her, but he didn't press his concern. Though now that she's gone, he's both wondering if he should have and regretting that he didn't become better friends with her.
