Good afternoon, everyone! I can't believe I almost forgot this, but today's my birthday. It'll be the first birthday in Luceti that I've celebrated at my actual age! The last time it passed, the Malnosso had made me ten...

Anyway, I know a lot of things have been hard here. There have been some rough times for me, but there have been some really good ones, too. I feel like I've grown quite a bit since arriving here! I'm even a little taller. [Two inches is something to brag about when you were 5'1" upon your arrival, okay?] But where I feel I've grown the most is as a person, and I do think I have Luceti to thank for that. A-At least to an extent!

Especially to the people I've befriended, even the ones who've gone home. Thank you, everyone. [He's eighteen now--an adult. For all his personal growth, it feels strange. He still feels far from being an adult. But it's okay. He'll get there, he knows it. He's already come so far...]

[A little later, Jeb will be doing his usual thing around town. Going to the bakery to get sweets, stocking up on food for him and Silver, stopping by the flower shop, checking the general item store for anything neat...

Feel free to catch him anywhere around town--he's definitely going to keep busy for a couple hours. Just because it's his birthday doesn't mean he should hole himself up.]

[At the moment, Jeb doesn't even know Silver's in the same store as him. He's admiring a stuffed animal on one of the shelves. It looks a lot like the one he bought Faye for her birthday one year...]

[Good. That buys him a little more time to think. Honestly, Silver, you kind of fail at this sort of thing...then again it's the first time he's ever gotten someone a birthday gift. He's sorta figured out the whole friendship thing but it's still Silver we're talking about, so...]

[Jeb considers taking the stuffed animal home, as a way of feeling closer to home. He hasn't stopped feeling like it isn't right for him to leave yet, that he still has a lot to do here--but he is homesick. He's always homesick.]

[Silver will just stand there and watch for a few more minutes before going screw it and approaching. Slowly. Awkwardly. Because even though they're honorary brothers and friends now he still feels awkward about giving Jeb a damn birthday present.]

Hey.

Silver! Hi. [Smiling!] I plan to do grocery shopping today. Is there anything you want? I can't believe I forgot to ask you beforehand!

We're running out of eggs, so that'd be nice. Also we need more celery...and maybe a bag of chips.

[clears throat]

I've also, um. Got something. For you.

Okay! I'll make sure to get all of those!

You do? What is it? B-But if it's a birthday present, I probably shouldn't ask that...

Yeah...um, here. [he thrusts the package towards Jeb awkwardly, kicking himself all the while for being such a big pile of fail. This is what you get for being a dumbass loner for all these years, Silver.]

Oh--thank you! [Jeb smiles. He hadn't really expected anything and would have just been happy with a "happy birthday," but this is nice. He looks down at the package, unwrapping it slowly.] This is really sweet of you, Silver.

I still would have been happy with birthday wishes, but... I'm really glad you got me something.

[He's still unwrapping, he wants to be careful.]

I'm sure I will! [He finishes unwrapping, finally. His smile brightens.]

[That's a good sign! Silver actually blushes at seeing this.]

[He looks at the present, then at Silver.]

I... thank you so much! [That might be a hug Silver's about to get, oops.]

[Silver's still pretty awkward about being hugged, but at this point he's more than willing to admit he likes it. At least when it's Jeb.] Y-you're welcome!
